Children's Lit Symposium at Texas A&M, reprint

A&M Commerce set to host Eighth Annual BMJ Symposium

Commerce, TEXAS: Texas A&M University-Commerce Department of Curriculum and Instruction is hosting the Eighth Annual Bill Martin Jr. Symposium on May 4, 2012. This event will feature Jim Aylesworth, author of more than 30 children's books, as keynote speaker.

Featured presenters will include co-authors Alma Flor Ada and Isabel Campoy, authors of children's books and books for teachers. Ada's book Magical Encounters, is often used as a textbook in ESL/Bilingual courses.

The event schedule includes three breakout sessions and luncheon following the keynote speaker.

The BMJ Symposium for educators is held in memory of Bill Martin Jr., author of children's books for over 50 years. The Bill Martin Jr. Library is housed on the campus of A&M-Commerce and includes many of his published works, manuscripts, and letters from the greats in children's literature.
