Governor General’s awards: Children’s literature winners
Quebec author Martin Fournier has won the Governor General’s Literary Award for Children’s Literature for Les aventures de Radisson — L’enfer ne brûle pas. Christopher Moore, of Toronto, was named the winner in the English category for From Then to Now: A Short History of the World.
The seven English and seven French awards are given to authors, illustrators and translators in the categories of fiction, poetry, drama, non fiction, children’s literature (text and illustration) and translation.
This year marks the 75 anniversary of the awards, which are funded, administered and promoted by the Canada Council.
Each winner receives $25,000.
