Etisalat Award for Arabic Children's Literature shortlist announced = $273,500

Oct 16, 2011 - 12:02 - WAM Sharjah, Oct. 16th, 2011 (WAM) -- The UAE Board on Books for Young People (UAEBBY) has approved the final list of five books, one of which will ultimately win the AED 1 million Etisalat Award for Arabic Children's Literature, the most prestigious literary award in the Arab world.

The judging panel yesterday submitted names of the nominated books, which include four Lebanese titles and one Egyptian entry to the administration of the Board. The nominees, in no particular order, are: My Mother and Smoking by Asala Publishers (Lebanon); Fly Away Plane by Nahdet Misr (Egypt); When My Friend Got Sick by Yuki Press (Lebanon); Why Don't I See What You See by Tala Educational Means (Lebanon); and Neglected Tips by Al Hadaek Group (Lebanon).
